Floppy Disk Orchestra Plays The Star Wars Theme Just when we thought floppy disks were becoming a thing of the technological past, this genius of a man decided to build an old- school electronic orchestra which could play classic tunes such as “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, “Hawaii 5-0 Theme”, and my personal favorites, “Star Wars Theme”, and “Imperial Death March”. The Floppotron, created by Pawel Zadrożniak, is a serious work of art. He explains a bit in his blog how he came to coding this throwback masterpiece: “Host application was written in Python 2.7. Beat Lab Workshop – Gladiator This past weekend Beat Lab Academy presented a free workshop presented by Daniel Goodman of the hit producer Dj duo, Gladiator. Gladiator has been a force to be reckoned with in the electronic music scene and have made a name for themselves in the Trap/Big Room genre. Both LA natives, Daniel and his partner Ian have played at shows all across the nation including Hardfest and Electric Daisy Carnival. In his workshop Daniel covered topics which included his method of sample organization and workflow. His streamlining of samples allows him to quickly find and pick out sounds of choice from his huge extensive library. This helps him to produce tracks at the most professional speed. Its interface is simple, the sound quality is decent, but most importantly, it’s FREE! Who doesn’t like free stuff?? With the high costs of some Electronic Piano plug-ins nowadays this is a bargain not to pass up. Sweetcase’s easy-to-use setup has all the modulation controls required to get that vintage sound you’re going for. Most of the sound produced can bring forth that old school jingle jazz vibe.
