Beat Lab Reviews – Fresh Tracks of the Week March 15, 2019

KNARS – She Twisted KNARS She Twisted is a tossup of explosive genres and a whole lot of energy. The initial feeling begins with a tripped drum N bass rhythm and is eerily reminiscent of the Prodigy (RIP Keith). Their release timing couldn’t have been more prescient, the song is a gift to everyone who is a fan of the style and even many who aren’t. The pumping synths and bass make it easy to get up and DANCE. Fiery energy is captured in this recording – the rapping lead vocals are intoxicating with the rhythm. Listen below. Otherwise Fine – IwantU Spring, summer, and winter – the seasons come to fruition in this song’s opening. Longing and loneliness, and an eventual feeling of completion. The music is in the vein of Zero7 or Massive Attack. Otherwise Fine has done a fine job putting their twist on trip-hop, and with

More music, more love, more freshness. Enjoy the collection below! Try to stay warm in the cold. Listen Below. The Same Persons – Give Me Give Me is a beautiful house track featuring a guitar and vocal opening. The drop is incredibly catchy thanks to the blippy bass and kick drum. The second build/verse evens out the energy with some more singing and instruments, it’s all lovely. Give Me takes house production back to its roots and remains original at the same time. The production is clean as hell and this one is now on our club bangers playlist. Listen below. DUETS AND STUFF – Serve Somebody Is Winter over yet? It’s especially hard to tell while listening to this delicious indie song by Duets and Stuff. Halfway between moody winter and shiny summer, the vibes on this song remain blissful. The marimba player deserves a shoutout for humbly chirping

It’s old school in vibes but new school in attitude. The beat brings the heat with low 808’s. It brings the soul with the lyrical madness. It’s a banger, and we encourage you to get with it. Listen below. Thom Six – Phat Thom Six shows some spirit in this single called Phat. It’s a low-tempo future bass track that takes its time to lure you in. The leads make you think you’re playing NBA 2k16 and we don’t mind that. It could almost be an old Kanye instrumental with the sonic palette. It’s dope, simple as that. Listen below. IACONIC – Changes We got some more hip-hop this week, and it

French Horn Rebellion & Glassio – Love Me Back We’ll start off with a dope collaboration that brings us Love Me Back. It’s a bit like Passion Pit and Mura & Masa had a child. Bay Ledges – I Wonder This song may have the coolest artwork of all the fresh tracks today. It definitely stands out as an indie pop song. Some lovely subdued vocals rock along with the backbeat.
