Alex Pelly is a filmmaker and video artist based in Los Angeles. She is currently immersed in video art that blends digital animation, modular video synthesis and analog feedback and processing. Coming up through the creative community surrounding internet radio station DUBLAB, she continues to do live visuals for their events as well as host a monthly live-streamed audiovisual show called PELLYVISION. She most recently created live projections for Dublab’s Tonalism happening at Bonnaroo. Alex designed live shows for synth pop band ESP from 2011-2013, is resident visualist for underground techno party, Perpetual Dawn, and performs live visuals for noise duo Telecaves. She continues to do video art for various events, concerts and parties around LA. She has shown work at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA, the Beverly Hills Gagosian Gallery, Coaxial Arts, Hauser and Wirth Los Angles and as part of LA Weekly’s Artopia.
On Saturday, July 21st, Alex will be joining us for a workshop to demonstrate her live video rig, including modular video synthesis and video feedback.
