Free Binaural Plugin – Sennheiser AMBEO Orbit

Free Binaural Plugin – Sennheiser AMBEO Orbit Sennheiser just released a free binaural panner plugin designed for mixing sound in a 3D space. This plugin is straightforward to use with a clean interface and simple controls. The idea is to place sounds within a 3D field of space without losing any quality in the overall sound, and AMBEO accomplishes this quite gracefully. This tool is specially designed to work with your surround sound mixing but will enhance any panning in stereo-based projects.       An Azimuth wheel dominates the majority of the user interface where you can control the stereo placement of your sound. Click and drag the wheel, click a position, or type in the exact degree and the wheel will follow. In the bottom right are controls for Clarity and Width, the former affects the coloration being performed by the application and the latter affects how much space …

HY-TP2 – Free Tremolo/Pan Plugin

HY-TP2 – Free Tremolo/Pan Plugin HY-Plugins has released a free VST/AU plugin called HY-TP2; it is a useful tremolo AND autopan plugin. The plugin comes with a Mod Wave section where waveform selections can be made to choose the type of modulation wave (sinewave, triangle, ramp up, ramp down, log up, log down, square, and random). There is a phase adjustment knob right below the waveform selection to adjust for timing issues and a smoothing knob next to that to smooth out the modulation shapes. The tremolo/panner section is straightforward with standard rate, depth and modulation width knobs (or a sync button to lock into the track tempo). The width modulation knob actually adjusts the balance between the tremolo and autopan effects. A dual filter section follows that with hi and lo-pass knobs. Finally, there is a volume knob to send out to your DAW. The GUI is resizable, includes …

Krush – Free Bitcrusher Plugin

Krush – Free Bitcrusher Plugin In the spirit of the holidays and the top 12 plugins post we published recently, we wanted to set aside a post dedicated to this amazing plugin – Krush. Krush is a bitcrusher plugin which is designed to mangle your sound through its analog-modeled filters and warm drive stage. The bitcrusher includes an LFO section to modulate every parameter individually or at the same time which gives you a lot of freedom to synchronize your effects or add in random automation over the course of your track. Bitcrusher works by reducing your sample size and/or bit depth depending on the settings you’ve chosen, it leads to some subtle warmth or extremely aggressive mangling. Bitcrushers are useful in a practical sense for adding some character to instruments and are great for warming up vocals to make them stand out (re: Sail by AWOLNation). This plugin is a great addition to your …
