Basslet – The World’s Most Portable Subwoofer

Basslet – The World’s Most Portable Subwoofer   We’re currently living in an age where possibilities are endless. Since the creation of the laptop we’ve been able to create amazing pieces of music and art unrestricted to a studio space.  One possibility that’s soon coming to life is a subwoofer that you can wear around your wrist. This breakthrough technology is called the Basslet.     The Basslet is created by the startup company Lofeit, and its founders come from leading music tech companies Ableton and Native Instruments. The device has been in production for nearly two years. It can be connected to any device: Laptop, smartphone, gaming console, virtual reality headset, DJ mixer.. you name it! This technology expands our audio experience to a new level. As we all know lower frequencies beneath the 100-125 Fhz range are better “felt” than heard. This makes it a must-have for producers who …

Sonuus Loopa – The Worlds First Looper Microphone

Sonuus Loopa – The Worlds First Looper Microphone Sonuus is a UK based brand created by team of guitar-playing engineers with experience in creating professional hardware and software musical products. They recently took on the endeavor to create the world’s first looper microphone. It works just like a normal microphone, but lets you record what you sing, replay it in a loop and sing over it. Layer and loop your voice with 12 minutes recording time, unlimited overdubbing and multi-level undo/redo. With the Loopa you can build up layers of sound, controlling the looping and overdubbing using the controls on the microphone. This means that you are free to move around while you sing or perform and the control is intuitive because it is in your hands, where you are already holding the microphone. The Loopa was developed by, not only “looper” visionaries, but audio specialist. The result is a powerful, crystal clear …

2020 – The Insane Semi-Modular Drum Sequencer App

2020 – The Insane Semi-Modular Drum Sequencer App There is an insane Kickstarter startup for a standalone, semi-modular drum sequencer, designed to create live, improvised compositions. Developed by Yotaro Shuto, an electronic musician who performs in DUB-Russell, a Japanese music group that creates all their own sounds with the Cycling ’74 Max software, and performs completely improvised computer sets. The roots of the 2020 are pretty clear in its layout, function and vision. On their Kickstarter page there is an outline of there two goals: to generate a million sound and sequence variations from a single idea, and to make entire beats in just one screen. From the looks of it, they’re on the right track, no doubt.   (2020 Grid Sequencer) 2020 is equipped with a clock, sample slicer, grid sequencers, 12 one shot samples and kick synth, 2 FM synths, external inputs / Higurashi generator, effect patcher, pitch transposer, 3 send effects, bus mixer, master effects, …

Remidi T8 – The Wearable Instrument

Remidi T8 – The Wearable Instrument Remidi has began a Kickstarter project with the goal of creating a fully wearable instrument. The T-8 is a pair of gloves with ultra sensitive sensors placed in 8 different spots around your hand, and two motion sensors placed on your wrist. By doing this you have the chance to program the 8 pads with sounds, and add effects to the motion sensors. The T-8 detects what to play based of what they call Air Modulation, which is pretty self explanatory. You are able to modulate your sound through air, by simply moving your hands with easy motion. The T-8 is also capable of switching between preset chosen scales which allows seamless transition from song to song. The only thing you need to play is a surface and some space.     The T-8 is currently available to those who back it on Kickstarter, so go …
