ABOUT OUR PROGRAM
Deep dive into the Art of EQ, Space, Distortion, Stereo Imaging, and Dynamics to make your projects release-ready while competing with other releases in the style.
We’ll finalize the music by designing and building your own custom mastering chains to prepare your music for specific platforms including Youtube, Spotify, Pandora, Soundcloud, CD, radio, Club, and more.
For the final week, students will create their artist bio, cover art, press kit, website, media package, and artist branding under the guidance of a music branding professional.
Mixing can have a tremendous effect on the emotional impact of the song. It’s our job as modern musicians to find solutions for the sonic problems that may arise. Each song is unique and will require technical and creative decisions to give the song maximum impact.
The Art of the Super Producer
Lesson 1 – Intro to Mixing
Learn the foundational elements of what makes a powerful, balanced mix, wheater you are going for a clean and colored mix it’s important to understand how sound works and how to prepare for a mixing session.
Lesson 2 – Intro to Mixing II
Introduction to Dynamic Mixing, Parallel Processing, What is masking and how to solve it, M/S Processing, Creating a mixing template & Bus Processing
Lesson 3 – Phase & Stereo Imageing
Understanding Phase Correlation and issues that can occur in the stereo image or between frequencies stacking (especially in the low-end).
Using psychoacoustic phenomenons to make our project super wide.
Lesson 4 – The Art of EQ
Deep dive into the world of frequency sculpting. Gain full control. Enhance, attenuate, and carve room in your mix for every element.
Lesson 5 – The Art of Distortion
Explore different types of distortion, Harmonics/overtones, timbre, clipping (soft, hard, and in between).
Lesson 6 – The Art of Dynamics
Understand dynamic range and how to use it for your style. Wheater’s super hyped modern electronic music or soft impactful recorded music, Compressors, Multiband compressors, Dynamic EQs, Gates, Expanders, and Transient Designers are essentials tools for a modern mix and master.
Lesson 7 – The Art of Space
Add multiple dimensions to your mix using various time-based effect techniques. Learn about the different types of Reverbs and Delays. Use delay-based modulation effects like flanger and chorus to make your mix wide and evolving.
Lesson 8 – Vocal Production
Recording the right way, Vocal Harmonies, Creative Effects, & Vocal Chains
Lesson 9 – Vocal Mixing
Dynamic EQ, Vocal Compression, De-Essing, Saturation, Using Harmonizers, Modern Time-based effects.
Lesson 10 – Mastering for Online Platforms
RMS vs LUFS and other loudness measurements, Clipping Techniques, Group Mastering, Gain Staging, and Parallel Mastering.
Lesson 11 – Music Buisness
Plan a clear path to put your music out there in the best way possible while understanding the music industry’s inner workings.

If you already have a basic understanding of music production, Ableton, and have been making music for at least 6 months, this course can help you achieve better, bigger, and more powerful mixes as well as an understanding of how the music industry works.
