Native Instruments Traktor 2.11.0 with Ableton Link Update

Last week, Native Instruments released TRAKTOR PRO 2.11.0 – a free update that brings new features, more third-party hardware support, and fixes. TRAKTOR’S last update added more stability, this update brings more new tools for creativity. The major update is Ableton Link integration, which truly does open up new doors for TRAKTOR users. Now syncing TRAKTOR with supported audio apps from an iOS app to a desktop DAW, like Ableton or other DJ-software, is as easy as the click of a button. Users will now be able to keep everything in time from a single computer or from multiple computers over WIFI or Ethernet cable.

TRAKTOR has also introduced a new Step Sequencer for Remix Decks, allowing users access to 4 rows of one-shot samples to create rhythms in a live setting. The samples are customizable and users can add effects/swing/filters to allow more performance. The Step Sequencer works out-of-the-box and on-screen with TRAKTOR KONTROL S8 and D2, and allows MIDI mapping for TRAKTOR KONTROL F1. All Step Sequencer functions are MIDI-mappable. As a bonus, the update includes five Remix Sets, with classic drum machine sounds and percussion samples, for use with the Step Sequencer.

For our CDJ users, Pioneer DJ CDJ-2000NXS2 multi-players now have HID support. Track information appears on the CDJ screen and you are able to manipulate TRAKTOR PRO 2 deck features from your controls. The DJM-900XS2 is now TRAKTOR SCRATCH Certified as well (with proper software and timecode).

The TRAKTOR 2.11.0 update is impressive and creates so much more opportunity for performance, music creation and collaboration with the program. Watch the video below to see how perfectly Ableton and TRAKTOR stay synced between two computers over a local network. Even over drastic BPM changes the clocks remain right in time. Also, the ability to add in musical elements from each linked program, perfectly in time, is incredible and allows so much possibility.  On top of all that, the variety of programs and apps that are compatible with Link creates a lot of flexibility.
