Fresh Tracks of the Month – Alumni Spotlight April 2020

Fresh Tracks of the Month – Alumni Spotlight April 2020 This month we’re focusing back in on our Alumni and their recent releases. We’ve got an incredible lineup here and their range showcases just how versatile our students’ backgrounds can be. A lot of us are stuck inside so bundle up, and enjoy the following releases. Listen below! AHZ – Creep AHZ is the live electronic-music band that features one of Beat Lab’s Alumni Loren Moore. Loren even teaches at Beat Lab when he’s not busy mixing records or producing his own music. AHZ is one of Loren’s many projects, the band performs all their music live and is turning the industry on its head. They were set to play Ultra before it was canceled due to Covid-19. Their most recent release is a cover of Creep by Radiohead. The song’s pristine production and banging rhythms are a large part

Fresh Tracks of the Month – March 2020

Fresh Tracks of the Month – March 2020 Welcome, all, to this month’s spectacular edition of Fresh Tracks where the tracks are fresh and the audience is even fresher (that’s you). We’ve got some incredible tracks below and we’re so excited for you to listen. After last month’s alumni spotlight, we wanted to carry the same range in style so we’ve got a wide breadth of genres. We’ve got hip hop tracks, nu-disco, indie/alt-rock, you name it! Enjoy the new new, listen below. Hopper – Bonnie Hopper’s song Bonnie is the first song we’re featuring on this month’s Fresh Tracks. It’s an Indie Rock song with a refreshing sincerity, and simplicity to it. The production meshes blissfully with the musical/vocal performances and the end result is a delightfully listenable tune. It feels like it could fit comfortably in the background of your favorite TV show, or at a live show. Bring

Fresh Tracks of the Month – Alumni Spotlight

Fresh Tracks of the Month – Alumni Spotlight Welcome back, everyone! It’s been a few months since we have done our last edition of Fresh Tracks, but we’re back just in time for winter to pack up its bags. This month we wanted to check in with our alumni and listen to their most recent tracks! We couldn’t pick them all, but below are some of our favorite releases. Listen below. Partywithray – partywithray EP Beat Lab’s most recent break-out artist is easily Partywithray. Already he has opened for dance music legends like Zhu, Loud Luxury, and Green Velvet.  Lucky for us, he just released his debut EP of the same name, partywithray. The EP features two songs dedicated to letting the audience know the answer to the question – who the fuck is partywithray? Shrouded in style and a fog of nonchalant mystery, the EP’s sound embodies the look

Fresh Tracks of the Month July 8th, 2019

Fresh Tracks of the Month July 8th, 2019 Welcome back everyone, it has been two months since our last release of the Fresh Tracks of the Month. We hope you all enjoyed and celebrated Independence Day (American readers mostly). If you weren’t celebrating then we welcome you to the month of July regardless! Continue below for some of the hottest tracks that were submitted to us recently via Submithub. Listen below. Prayrain, Tom Lohrman – One-Sided Prayrain and Tom Lohrman teamed up on this electric collaboration called One-Sided. The production is clean and a pleasure to listen to, especially with the powerful vocals of both artists included. The vibes create a catchy back-and-forth between the two vocalists that is easy to move to and easier to hear again. The song’s release is just in time for summer and will surely make its way into pool party setlists everywhere. The seemingly

Fresh Tracks of the Month May 13, 2019

Welcome back! It’s been a few weeks since we’ve reviewed some music, but now we’re back and everything is okay. We’ve decided to change our format to monthly articles. Fear not, they feature the same high quality of songs for you to feast on! Listen below. Rich Fry – Drink the Magic Rich Fry’s Drink the Magic encourages delightful mischief in auditory form. The instrumentation balances a bad attitude with an optimistic reach for the stars all at once. The song made us feel like fighting, dancing, laughing, and drinking. The ringing guitars certainly help impart this feeling alongside the singer’s high-pitched encouragement. Listen below. Petey – Apple TV Remote Odd, fantastic, and uplifting – these are some words we’d use to describe Petey’s song Apple TV Remote. The title and topic of the song are both relatable (who HASN”T misplaced their TV remote) and nonsensical. The production is on
